Concepts and Significance This experiment is used to measure the Aggregate Impact Value (AIV) of different crush samples. This test is used to determine the relative toughness of aggregates. Toughness of aggregates is the ability of an aggregate to resist impact or sudden shocks. Lower the AIV greater will be its toughness.
